Job Summary
Associate or Senior Editor at Nature Human Behaviour seeks an editor with expertise in computational science or the quantitative social sciences to handle original research papers, oversee peer review, and contribute to content and strategy across Nature Portfolio journals. Responsibilities include manuscript screening and decision-making, commissioning and editing content such as Reviews or editorials, liaising with editors across journals and with the international scientific community, and attending conferences and visiting research institutions. Requirements include a PhD in a related field, breadth of interest in scientific research beyond one specialty, excellent written and spoken English, and willingness to travel. The role is permanent and based in Shanghai, Milan, or Pune with a hybrid working model.
Required Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent) in a field related to computational science or any of the quantitative social sciences
- editorial experience is not required but encouraged for Senior Editor positions
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
- ability to travel and engage with researchers worldwide
- ability to read and assess research contributions across disciplines
- multidisciplinary background and broad interests in human behaviour research
- strong quantitative skills
