Associate or Senior Editor (Nature Geoscience – Biogeochemistry)

Associate or Senior Editor for Nature Geoscience – Biogeochemistry. Responsibilities include handling original research papers, working closely with editor teams on all aspects of the editorial process, manuscript selection and overseeing peer review; making well-reasoned editorial decisions; commissioning and editing content such as Reviews or editorials; liaising extensively with editors at other journals in the Nature Portfolio and with international researchers; and attending conferences and visiting research institutions. The role requires a PhD (or equivalent) in geoscience, a thorough understanding of recent trends in the field, excellent communication and interpersonal skills (fluent English), and a willingness to travel to meet scientists worldwide and help them understand Nature Portfolio’s papers and processes. Editorial experience is not required, though applicants with editorial experience are encouraged and may be considered for Senior Editor positions. The successful candidates will report to the Chief Editor and duties are offered in Shanghai, Beijing, Milan, or Pune; internal candidates from any location may apply. This is a permanent, full-time position with an emphasis on editorial assessment, peer-review coordination, content strategy, and collaboration across Nature Portfolio journals.
