Job Summary
Editor with multidisciplinary expertise in social and health sciences to handle original research papers, oversee peer review, determine representation of their subject area, liaise with editors across the Nature Portfolio, attend conferences and visiting research institutions, and commission/edit Reviews and Editorials. Requires a PhD (or equivalent), broad interest across disciplines, strong editorial judgment, excellent written/spoken English, and willingness to travel. Senior-level opportunity with potential to collaborate across Nature Portfolio journals; location options include Shanghai, Beijing, or Pune with a hybrid working model.
Required Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent) in a related field
- Editorial experience not required but encouraged
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to read and assess novelty, context and implications of research submitted to the journal
- Willingness to travel and meet scientists worldwide
- Interest in social and health sciences including psychology, economics and public health
