Job Summary
Do you love science and want to shape the dissemination of cutting-edge catalysis research? Nature Catalysis is seeking Associate or Senior Editors to join the Nature Portfolio editorial team. The role focuses on handling original research papers in electrocatalysis or photocatalysis (with broader heterogeneous catalysis welcome), making editorial decisions with expert input, and commissioning/editing content such as Reviews, Perspectives, Comments, or editorials. You will liaise with editors across the Nature family, interact with the international scientific community, and attend conferences or visit research institutions as needed. Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) in catalysis, with a passion for science, breadth of interest beyond their specialty, and excellent English communication skills. Editorial experience is not required but encouraged for consideration for Senior Editor roles. The position is permanent and can be based in Shanghai, Beijing, Milan, or Pune, with a readiness to travel and collaborate across journals as portfolio needs evolve.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in catalysis or related field
- editorial experience preferred but not required
- ability to travel internationally
- excellent written and spoken English
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to assess novelty and implications of research
- experience with manuscript assessment and peer-review processes
- familiarity with editorial workflows and publishing standards
