Job Summary
Develop investment theses and roadmaps for the AI ecosystem, conducting deep diligence on customers, products, and teams to drive firm strategy. Source founders and startups by actively engaging in the community through events and meetups, then present analyses to support investment decisions. Provide portfolio support via introductions, strategy, hiring assistance, and board attendance. This full-stack role reports to Mike Droesch with mentorship from senior partners. Ideal start date is Q3 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Location: based in the San Francisco Bay Area, in office 3 to 4+ days per week
- Professional experience. ideally 2–4+ years of relevant professional experience in an operating role at a startup, as a founder, scientist, technologist, investor, or technology investment banker
- Technical experience. ideally degree(s) or self-taught expertise in computer science, mathematics, machine learning, engineering, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- AI native. constantly using and experimenting with cutting edge products, technologies, and models, with strong, well-formed opinions on where the space is heading, not just what's trending this week
- Out in the world. you genuinely enjoy being in the community, attending events, showing up to founder meetups, and building real relationships rather than transactional ones
- Independent thinker, fast learner. you run with ambiguity and don't need step-by-step direction to make progress
