Job Summary
The Institute of Indigenous Research and Studies at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor for Indigenous scholars. The successful candidate must have an established rigorous research program, engagement with Indigenous communities, and a commitment to building Indigenous Studies as a discipline. Duties include scholarly activities, academic service, teaching, and supervision of students at undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates are expected to handle the development of a graduate program, attract funding, and foster research collaborations.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate (Ph.D.) or terminal degree in the field of study
- Strong knowledge of university governance
- Commitment to developing the Institute's research and teaching excellence
- Research engagement with Indigenous communities and partners
Desired Qualifications
- Evidence of successful teaching at a post-secondary institution
- Evidence of an established and innovative research program
- Record of refereed publications and participation in scholarly conferences
- Ability to attract external funding
- Fluency in English or French
