Job Summary
The role focuses on planning, coordinating, reviewing switching and tagging, writing and issuing clearances, monitoring loads and voltages on circuits and substation equipment during peak periods, and supporting emergency restoration efforts. The Associate Operator maintains the outage management model to reflect real-time system status, coordinates emergency actions with Federal, State, Municipal partners and other utilities, and assists at regional operation centers. The position requires technical knowledge of transmission and distribution network equipment, safety, regulatory codes, and familiarity with PC-based and mainframe applications, as well as training concepts and developing capabilities using a Systematic Approach to Training.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
- Zero to five years of related electrical utility experience
- Must successfully pass all required pre-employment tests
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
- Must be able to function under stressful emergency situations for extended periods of time
