Job Summary
Trainee role learning all aspects of a pork production facility and working with team members to promote safety and quality. Responsibilities include observing to ensure the area runs at maximum capacity while maintaining high quality, coordinating with Maintenance and other resources to keep equipment functioning per regulations, and preparing for a supervisor role. The role involves interaction with Accounting, Human Resources, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, and Production, with duties expanding toward supervisory responsibilities over a specific area. Strong bilingual English/Spanish communication is required, and willingness to comply with biosecurity and company policies. The position may require travel and relocation with relocation assistance offered.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred
- 1+ years of experience in live swine production; knowledge of animal flow, processing, ventilation, feeding, and vaccination protocols
- Strong verbal and written communication; bilingual English and Spanish required
- Basic computer skills; valid driver’s license
- Able to meet biosecurity requirements (showering before entering facility; appropriate PPE)
- Willingness to sign Animal Welfare Policy and company policies
- Able to perform physical duties (lift up to 25 pounds); able to work in shifts; relocation assistance available
