Job Summary
Assist producers and executives with daily content prep, recording, editing, and planning of newscasts. Create and execute broadcasts based on research by collaborating with reporters to identify top video stories and confirming accurate reporting. Stack, write compelling stories and teases, and order graphics while ensuring pace aligns with style guidelines. Work with assignment desks to find stories, assign reporters, and support live shots for booth newscasts. Assist in producing special projects and other station-related content. Must be available for varied hours as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent creative writing and communication skills
- Ability to recognize stories with potential and develop them into compelling broadcast content
- Highly detail oriented with the ability to execute ideas
- Comfortable working with talent, and other high-profile individuals
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must be available to work varied hours as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-3 years of broadcast experience preferred
- Familiarity with MS Outlook, Word and Excel preferred
