Job Summary
Hybrid mortgage lending role between Flat Rock and Hendersonville branches focused on guiding members through the real estate loan application process. Responsibilities include receiving and assisting with real estate loan applications, underwriting and making recommendations on loan decisions considering creditworthiness, income verification (including personal/business tax returns), collateral valuation, and risk; communicating approval or denial decisions; counseling home buyers and homeowners; coordinating with Real Estate Lending Processing Center; educating members on available services and referrals to other credit union products; staying updated on market trends, interest rates, and lending policies; servicing existing mortgage and home equity loans; pricing and disclosing loan terms based on borrower factors; completing required Consumer Lending Program courses and earning initial lending limits with VP/SVP recommendation; engaging with community, realtors, and third parties to support loan volume; performing related tasks and ongoing training to enhance mortgage originations; some local travel; office environment with proximity to staff; restriction to NC locations.
Required Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred – bachelor’s degree, CCUE Certification, or A.A./A.S. via NC-CTP; Real Estate Lending Program (REL P) completed within 6 months; MLO with NMLS; strong communication and integrity; adherence to policies; online training modules; ability to travel locally; proficient computer skills.
