Job Summary
Entry-level mortgage loan specialist role focused on real estate lending, guiding members through the loan application process, assisting with completing applications, underwriting support, income verification, and communicating loan decisions. Responsibilities include processing real estate loan applications, serving as primary contact during origination, evaluating income documentation, staying updated on market trends and lending policies, assisting with loan servicing, determining interest rates/fees based on creditworthiness and loan terms, completing required training modules, and collaborating with Real Estate Lending Processing Center, branch staff, realtors, and community partners to grow mortgage loan volume. Requires completion of Consumer Lending Program and adherence to SECU policies; strong communication skills and integrity are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of Consumer Lending Program courses and subsequent exam
- Must be eligible to be registered as an active MLO with the NMLS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn and use lending software and loan origination systems
- Strong integrity and objectivity
- Willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development
- Ability to work with SECU policies and regulatory standards
