Job Summary
Run high throughput quality assay pipelines to screen gene editing and RNAi designs for product development. Isolate and transform protoplasts from various plant species, perform reporter gene assays, and program liquid handlers for automated processes. Design plant transformation vectors and troubleshoot technical issues while optimizing existing workflows. Collaborate across multiple projects to deliver results within deadlines under close supervision. This role supports trait enablement projects for tropical crops using state-of-the-art genome-editing tools.
Required Qualifications
- BSc/MSc in Plant Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, or any other related discipline
- Aseptic handling and subculturing of biological material
- Experience with standard molecular cloning techniques
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
- Strong communication skills, able to discuss complex problems clearly
- Excellent organization and adherence to strict QC and assurance practices
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years working experience in a research environment (academic or commercial)
- Good understanding of gene expression and its regulation
- Knowledge of and experience with gene editing technologies
- Previous experience with working on plants
