Job Summary
Associate Merchandise Planner to support the planning team in developing and executing merchandise strategies that drive sales and profitability. This entry-level role assists with reporting, forecasting, and inventory analysis to ensure the right products are available across retail and/or e-commerce channels. Responsibilities include developing seasonal merchandise plans, tracking performance, analyzing sales trends and stock levels, maintaining Open-to-Buy (OTB) and forecasting tools, collaborating with buying/allocation/merchandising teams, producing weekly/monthly reports on sales and KPIs, monitoring product flow and delivery timelines, contributing to markdown and promotional planning analyses, and assisting with post-season reviews. Key qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in economics/business/retail management, 1-2 years in retail planning or analytics, strong Excel and numerical skills, attention to detail and organizational ability, effective communication in a fast-paced team environment, internship or retail experience in fashion buying/planning/allocation, familiarity with planning tools or ERP systems (e.g., Anaplan, SAP, JDA), and understanding of retail metrics such as sell-through, gross margin, and inventory turn.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Retail Management, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in retail, planning, merchandising, or an analytical internship (fashion industry experience a plus)
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with numbers, formulas, and reports
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive mindset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Internship or retail experience in fashion buying, planning, or allocation
- Familiarity with planning tools or ERP systems (e.g., Anaplan, SAP, JDA, or similar) is a plus
- Understanding of retail metrics such as sell-through, gross margin, and inventory turn
