Job Summary
Associate Member Services Officer is an entry-level role focused on delivering exemplary member service across in-person, phone, and digital channels. The position handles routine branch duties, cash box management, account origination and maintenance, and Notary Public services, with training in lending and collections. Responsibilities include greeting members, processing requests, answering inquiries, assisting with wire transfers and currency handling, ensuring confidentiality and security, following branch procedures, and supporting cross-department collaboration. The role also involves learning consumer lending and credit card products, supporting account opening and maintenance, and pursuing ongoing training to deepen knowledge of branch operations and financial services offered by SECU.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalence
- Must possess good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must complete the Credit Union Core Module Program within 12 months of hire date
- Ability to comprehend and carry out job demands (sitting, keyboard use, telephone use, lifting 10-15 pounds)
- Experience or training in Notary Public services as requested by management
- Willingness to learn CXone and assist MSS as requested
- Basic knowledge of consumer banking products (shares, money market, checking, certificates) and basic lending concepts
- Ability to process foreign and domestic wire transfers and assist with foreign currency handling
- Excellent customer service skills across in-person, phone, and digital channels
- Participation in ongoing training and continuing education
