Job Summary
Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care. Performs both administrative and clinical duties in accordance with established policies and procedures. Requires hands-on clinical training and/or military medical training with competencies in vital signs, injections, and medication administration; BLS certification within 30 days of hire. Preferred qualification includes National Medical Assistant Certification. The role is based in Lubbock, TX with full-time daytime hours in a healthcare setting within Covenant Medical Group under Providence. The position emphasizes patient-focused care and collaboration within a fast-paced environment, utilizing an electronic health record (EHR) system.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or
- Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or
- Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces, or
- Minimum one year of work experience in a role similar to a medical assistant that includes: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
- Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
