Job Summary
Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) works under the delegation of a licensed Practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care. Performs both administrative and clinical duties in a family medicine clinic; responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, administering injections, medication administration, and other clinical skills in a clinic setting consistent with established policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants
- Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program
- Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces
- Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes vital signs, injections, and medication administration
- Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months)
- Preferred: 6 months experience in customer service in fast-paced environment
- Preferred: 6 months experience with an Electronic Health Record (EHR)
