Job Summary

Develop 3D models and technical drawings for beamline, support structures, and components operating in ultra-high vacuum environments. Contribute to the design and development of primary and secondary mechanical fusion components, including stress, thermal, and fatigue analysis. Work with vendors and internal resources to fabricate, assemble, test, and validate systems, providing hands-on support in machine shop operations. Synthesize and present technical work internally and externally while communicating daily with project teams. Contribute to establishing company safety standards and lead their implementation within the R&D and Engineering team. Required Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience with 3D CAD design with current CAD software tools (SolidWorks, NX, Creo, etc.)
  • Some hands-on experience with machine shop practices, mechanical assembly, and familiar with specifying techniques for fabricating complex parts such as welding, brazing, EDM, waterjet, and milling
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, public presentation)
