Job Summary
Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer at Parsons supporting rail and transit projects across the full project lifecycle—from planning and design through construction, testing, and commissioning. You will assist with mechanical deliverables for rail vehicles and transit infrastructure (e.g., station and tunnel systems, ventilation equipment, pumps, maintenance facilities), collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (systems, civil/structural, electrical, construction), utilize CAE/CAD and other engineering software to develop, revise, and document mechanical designs, and prepare drawings, details, specifications, data sheets, and material takeoffs. The role emphasizes code and standard compliance, evaluation of deficiencies, and preparation of procurement documents. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and relevant internship/co-op experience in rail/transit are desirable. The position is hybrid out of the New York City office, with additional remote opportunities in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and processes
- Working knowledge of CAD and common PC software tools used in engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (preferred)
- Relevant internship or co-op experience in rail, transit, transportation, or mechanical systems projects
