Job Summary
Associate Mechanical Engineer who will participate in all product stages from research and development to design and manufacturing, through installation and final commissioning. Duties include designing, developing, prototyping, and testing mechanical components of products and systems. Must be well-versed in complex mechanical or electronic systems with strong problem-solving abilities and a creative approach. Maintains a team-based work environment at the Newburgh, IN home office; not a remote position. Reports to the Director of Engineering. Involves organizing full lifecycle product development, improving designs to meet requirements, and producing product documentation and sales literature. Helps stay informed about new theories or methods.
Required Qualifications
- BS Mechanical Engineering
- 0-3 years’ experience working as a Mechanical Engineer or in other relevant position
- Experience in solid modeling, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience in ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), preferably Arena
- Working knowledge of DFSS, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Design of Experiments (DOE) preferred
- Excellent knowledge of core concepts and principles of mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, etc.
- Strong creativity and analytical skills
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Daily Job duties include office, lab, and desk work with occasional field testing; may be required to work underground occasionally
