Job Summary
Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues on packaging and inspection equipment, focusing on PLC-controlled systems using Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and B+R platforms. Diagnose faults by reading ladder logic, evaluating electrical components, sensors, and HMIs to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with maintenance teams to execute root cause investigations, implement CAPAs, and ensure compliance with GMP and FDA regulations during production and planned maintenance events. Read and interpret PLC ladder logic to diagnose equipment faults and collaborate with controls engineers on corrective actions. This role operates on a night shift (6:00 pm – 6:30 am) with a 2-2-3 schedule in New Albany, OH.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant automation experience
- 2+ years of experience as an Automation Technician, Controls Technician, Electrical Technician, or similar automation-focused role
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic for troubleshooting purposes
- Familiarity with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and industrial automation systems
- Experience supporting automated packaging, inspection, or manufacturing equipment
- Working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, sensors, motors, VFDs, and industrial control systems
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively on non-standard shifts and respond to production support needs
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment, preferably using Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and B+R
- Working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, sensors, motors, VFDs, and industrial control systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Fully onsite New Albany, OH
- PM shift 6:00 pm – 6:30 am, 2-2-3 schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, food & beverage, or other highly automated manufacturing environments
- Experience working in a GMP and FDA-regulated environment
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs, Siemens PLCs, or similar industrial control platforms
