Job Summary
Associate Manager of Accounting Services overseeing GAAP/GASB-compliant accounting for asset management, capital-projects reporting, and bond compliance. Duties include supervising 2 full-time staff, reviewing work product, mentoring and performance evaluations, and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting. Key responsibilities include capital draws from the State via CORE and Workday, asset and fixed asset accounting, reconciliation and journal entries, prepare and monitor reports for senior leadership and Facilities, ensure bond payments and subsidies are processed accurately, maintain disclosures, and develop/update procedures to support ongoing compliance. Requires collaboration with Budget Office, bond counsel, and state regulators; strong Excel and Workday Finance experience; and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a higher-education environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 2 years of professional accounting experience
- Experience with reconciliations, both performing them and reviewing them
- Experience with Workday Finance or similar integrated financial system
- Proficiency in Excel
- Professional supervisory experience
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Experience interpreting accounting standards and applying them in a professional setting (Preferred)
- Experience in Higher Education (Preferred)
