Associate Manager, Behavioral Health Physician Coding

Job Summary
Leads Behavioral Health Physician Coding team across the enterprise, overseeing 10+ coders with a fully remote arrangement. Provides coaching, performance evaluations, and direction for the coding staff; helps set department goals, budgets, and monitors metrics such as unbilled A/R, RAC denials, and first-time submission accuracy. Develops coding policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate reimbursement from third-party payers, and collaborates with Sr. Coding Leaders and Directors to raise coding quality and productivity. Requires 5+ years of Behavioral Health coding experience, active CCS/CPC or equivalent certification (AHIMA/AAPC), and prior leadership experience. Remote eligibility is offered for a defined set of states.
Required Qualifications
- Requires a degree in Health Information or a related area
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CCS-P or RHIT or RHIA (active with AHIMA or AAPC) or RCC for Imaging space
- Five or more years of progressive coding experience, preferably within a major health care organization
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to work effectively with common office software and coding software applications
- Leadership experience or potential (leadership role, overseeing 10+ coders)
- Must be currently certified through AAPC or AHIMA as defined in minimum qualifications
