Job Summary
Life Sciences Associate role on General Atlantic’s NY-based investment team. Responsibilities include sourcing, evaluating, and recommending investment opportunities in drug development and biopharmaceuticals; supporting scientific and clinical due diligence (preclinical data, clinical trial results, regulatory strategy, market dynamics); developing and presenting investment theses to senior stakeholders and the Investment Committee; coordinating third-party scientific advisors, KOLs, and commercial consultants; monitoring portfolio companies and supporting capital allocation; leveraging clinical networks to generate deal flow and market intelligence; collaborating across the firm to share knowledge. Qualifications emphasize an MD or PhD in a relevant field, 2-5 years of post-graduate experience in life sciences, strong financial modeling, passion for scientific literature, deep understanding of drug development and regulatory processes, and excellent communication skills. Required Qualifications
- MD or PhD in relevant scientific field (molecular biology, genetics, biology, chemistry, etc.)
- 2-5 years of post-graduate school professional experience, including at least 2 years of relevant experience in the life sciences sector (e.g., life sciences investing, life sciences strategy consulting, life sciences equity research / investment banking, biopharma operating role)
- Strong foundation in financial modeling with a demonstrated commitment to deepening analytical expertise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly
