Job Summary

Draft, review, and negotiate key documentation for investment banking and capital markets transactions, including engagement letters, NDAs, and disclosure documents. Advise on legal, regulatory, and reputational risks across coverage areas while contributing to legal templates, playbooks, and contract management systems. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver practical legal guidance and support senior team members on restructuring matters such as Chapter 11 filings and court documents. This role requires at least two years of transactional law experience with a J.D. The position is based in the New York office, four days per week, with an annual base salary range of $165,000 - $200,000.

Required Qualifications

  • At least two years of work experience with a reputable law firm in a transactional law practice
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Currently, this role is expected to be in the New York office at least 4 days per week

  • Exposure to sophisticated corporate legal practice (with experience in securities and capital markets practice areas preferred)

  • Intellectual curiosity and comfort navigating new legal issues
  • High professional maturity; confident engaging with senior bankers and external counsel
  • Sound judgment with an ability to identify practical solutions to business questions in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • Ability to multi-task, meet dynamic deadlines and prioritize among multiple assignments
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry
  • Awareness of laws, rules, regulatory requirements and risks impacting broker-dealers
  • Effective process management abilities
  • Self-starter who enhances technical skills and knowledge through hands-on experience, research and staying current with best practices and relevant developments
  • Interest in developing the 'trusted advisor' brand and building internal and external contact networks
  • Highly motivated, critical thinker, who has sound judgment and is proactive, innovative and creative
