Job Summary
Conduct classroom, online, and laboratory instruction for one or more courses while serving as the initial point of contact for students regarding course content and expectations. Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to the course of instruction and assess student performance. Teach introductory physical geography and upper-division GIS courses, utilizing expertise in ArcGIS Pro where applicable. Operate within the UWSP Department of Geography and Geology, which emphasizes undergraduate research and community/field experience. Maintain a teaching load ranging between 1-12 credits per semester on a per-course basis. Submit a complete application including a cover letter, resume, and transcripts to be considered for future part-time associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Master's degree in Geography or related field from an accredited college or university
- Eligibility to work in the United States (citizen, national, or authorized foreign national without employer sponsorship)
- Authorization to work in the United States on or before the effective date of appointment
- Completion of a criminal background check
- Supply of three (3) professional references, one of which being a current or former supervisor
Desired Qualifications
- Earned Doctorate in Geography
- Previous teaching experience, with a demonstrated ability to teach introductory physical geography and upper-division GIS courses (with expertise in ArcGIS Pro)
- Experience and/or interest in teaching online courses
