Job Summary
Associate Lecturer in Asian Studies to teach and coordinate undergraduate units, focusing on Southeast Asia. Role emphasizes education-focused pedagogy, curriculum design, and collaboration (team-teaching and administration). Requires PhD or equivalent in Indonesian language and culture, native or near-native Indonesian or related language proficiency, and substantial experience in higher education teaching and online/blended learning material development. Pre-employment checks and gender-based violence compliance are part of employment conditions. Sponsorship is not available; applicants must have unrestricted work rights for Australia for the duration of employment. The successful candidate will start at the commencement of semester two in 2026.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent in Indonesian language and culture
- native or near native competency and fluency in Indonesian or another Asian language
- experience in teaching Indonesian at tertiary level
- experience with e-Learning platforms and online teaching
- experience in developing online material for teaching and blended learning modules for Indonesian language classes
- excellent problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills
- capacity to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team environment
- ability to assume service roles in administration and planning in the Asian Studies Discipline
