Job Summary
Associate Lecturer (Teaching Focused) in Anthropology for a 0.45 FTE fixed-term appointment based at the St Lucia campus in Brisbane. The role involves coordinating courses ANTH1008 Being Human: Cultural Diversity and Experience and ANTH2010 Critical Anthropology and Indigenous Australians, delivering lectures and tutorials, assessing and marking students, mentoring and academic counselling, and contributing to collegial life of the School. Teaching-focused responsibilities include maintaining course quality, engaging with students, and adhering to university teaching rules. Applicants should have a PhD or be near completion, with proven ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using active and flexible teaching approaches, including online delivery, and with strong communication and collaborative skills. Required Qualifications
- PhD or near completion of a PhD in Anthropology
- Demonstrated knowledge in a relevant field or sub-field of Anthropology
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate levels using active learning and flexible approaches
- Ability to use online systems and platforms in teaching and learning (e.g. Blackboard)
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Eligibility to work in Australia for duration of appointment
