Job Summary

The Associate IT Applications Engineer will learn, support, and maintain the PSImetals Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Responsibilities include developing and configuring MES functionality, troubleshooting system issues, participating in testing activities, and assisting in system integrations with databases and enterprise applications. Candidates must have an Associate degree in IT or a related field, strong communication skills, and organizational abilities. Exposure to object-oriented programming and a basic understanding of SQL are required. This role emphasizes the importance of teamwork and learning about manufacturing processes to support operational execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent coursework).
  • Clear, confident verbal and written communication skills suitable for working with both technical and operations personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‐paced environment.
  • Classroom, project, or internship exposure to object‐oriented programming (e.g., C#, Java, or similar).
  • Basic understanding of relational databases or SQL.
  • Enthusiasm to learn complex manufacturing systems and support MES environments.
  • Interest in troubleshooting technical issues and developing problem‐solving skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Exposure to or project experience with manufacturing systems, or MES concepts.
  • Knowledge of software development practices such as version control (Git), Agile methodologies, or basic CI/CD concepts.
  • Experience working with APIs, system integrations, or data exchange formats (REST, XML, JSON).
  • Familiarity with scripting or programming languages used in integration or system logic (e.g., C#, Java, Python).
  • Understanding data structures, basic networking, or system architecture concepts.
