Job Summary
Associate Ingredient Scientist responsible for developing precise ingredient specifications and gathering essential documentation to ensure FDA standards compliance. Will gain understanding of raw materials and their uses in beverage production, lead initiatives related to supplier requirements, cost reduction, supply concerns, or manufacturing challenges, and provide training to cross-functional teams. Will adhere to SOPs, accurately input ingredient data into databases, maintain detailed laboratory records, and collaborate with Product Development and other R&D departments (e.g., Sensory, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Technology, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology) as well as Quality and Procurement. Responsibilities include creating/updating SOPs and training materials, and communicating with vendors to obtain necessary documentation. Required skills include strong communication, project leadership, detailed data handling, adaptability, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in food or beverage sectors such as R&D, Quality, or consumer packaged goods internships
