Job Summary
Associate, Infrastructure Project Advisory (Construction/Engineering) at KPMG Advisory. Responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing, and recommending improvements to construction management processes and internal controls; leading construction contract reviews, compliance audits, and project oversight for large capital projects; defining and implementing policies, procedures, and internal controls for construction management; conducting project reviews to evaluate percentage of completion, change orders and claims, estimate reasonableness, schedule delays, defective specifications, and productivity losses; collaborating with diverse engagement teams to collect data, analyze, prepare narrative reports and presentations of observations and recommendations, and develop materials using analytics and visualization tools; working closely and independently under guidance of Managers, Directors, and Partners, with mentoring to strengthen understanding of leading practices and current industry trends; upholding integrity and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of recent experience in field construction management or construction advisory services with increasing roles and responsibilities in a variety of large capital project types for both public and private clients
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Construction Management, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required
- Professional Engineer, Project Management, Certified Construction Manager, Certified Public Accountant, American Institute of Architects, or other professional certification is preferred
- Knowledge in various phases of construction including planning and work breakdown structures, pre-construction services, sourcing and procurement of contracts, contract administration, scheduling, cost estimating, quality management, project reporting, and project closeout
- Field construction experience on different project types and public or private clientsExperience using various project management information systems and other toolsets
- Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation, records retention, and work paper organizational skills
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
