Job Summary

Ecumenical Liaison conveys, interprets, and embodies PCUSA policies and tenets, and serves as an active resource to PCUSA ecclesial partners and global stakeholders. You will represent and support PCUSA to international partners, collaborate with the Stated Clerk and IUA leadership, and connect with partner denominations, diaspora communities, and mission networks. Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategy for active world regions, creating spaces for information sharing among partners, staying informed on events affecting global partners, representing PCUSA at meetings, monitoring financial disbursements per grants policy, assisting in security and humanitarian planning, and coordinating connections to global ecumenical partnerships. The work location is flexible (domestic or international home base) with travel to serve the countries/regions assigned. Essential skills include cross-cultural collaboration, public speaking, meeting facilitation, project and time management, and strong written/oral communication; proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and the ability to work with diverse teams and adapt to various contexts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, with relevant work experience; Master's degree preferred
  • At least 4 years of experience in cross-cultural or international ministry, preferably toward an understanding of the PCUSA
  • Language skills appropriate to the region
  • Networking capabilities; cultivation of relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; good listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to relate well with a wide and inclusive diversity of people
  • Demonstrated skills in working in a team relationship by development, nurture, evaluation/assessment, reflection, analysis, and discernment
  • Able to maintain emotional balance under stress and able to respond appropriately to emotions and emotionally-charged situations
  • History of accountability and transparency
  • Able and open to learning from others
  • Travel required (domestic and international)
  • Ability to work evening/weekend hours on occasion to support events/programs
