Job Summary
The Associate I, Bursar will manage learner accounts and ensure accurate posting of tuition and fees. Responsibilities include coordinating student payments, posting payments from funding sources into the ledger, manually posting fees in the SIS, updating accounts for refunds, and keeping the ledger accurate in the SIS. The role supports project implementations and requires basic accounting experience, proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office, and mathematical skills (rates, ratios, percentages). Preference is given to candidates with experience in higher education, accounts receivable, and customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Some college is required an associate degree in accounting from an accredited institution is preferred
- Demonstrated one year of experience with entry level or basic Accounting is required
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Applications is required
- Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required
- Demonstrated one year of experience in customer service field is strongly preferred
- Some experience with a ledger or accounts receivable preferred
- Some experience at a higher institution of learning preferred
- Some experience working with a ledger or accounts receivable preferred
