Job Summary
Provide healthcare regulatory and reimbursement consulting services to clients, potential clients and centers of influence. Build client relationships, assist in scoping and planning multiple projects, and perform Medicare Cost Report compilations and related regulatory recovery engagements (e.g., Critical Access Hospital Medicare DSH, SSI Medicare bad debts, IME/GME shadow billing support, Medicaid HER incentive payments, Wage Index). Effectively analyze and communicate financial and operational data to management for decision-making and strategic planning; maintain/develop expertise in Medicare, Medicaid and third-party reimbursement procedures and reports. Participate in development of new consulting products and practice aids; contribute to client service delivery and proposal development. Strong communication, project management, and collaboration skills are essential; travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or other related field
- 1-3 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, either with a consulting firm or in a hospital setting; or cost accounting, or audit experience, ideally in the healthcare industry
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid & Blue Cross reimbursement reports and/or hospital cost reports preferred
- Ability to travel if needed for training or other business needs
- Financial and business acumen
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, project management, organization, prioritization and follow-up skills
- Strong skills in critical thinking, problem identification and resolution and process improvement
- Must be a team player yet able to work independently
- Experience in healthcare reimbursement and regulatory reporting
