Job Summary

Lead writing, editing, and submission of grant proposals for private foundations ranging from $500 to $10,000, while coordinating proposal timelines from development through submission. Support the full grant lifecycle including prospecting, research of new opportunities, annual renewals, and post-award reporting. Prepare grant narratives using data visualizations, draft funder correspondence and acknowledgment letters, and track all grant deadlines and deliverables. Coordinate logistics for grant site visits and contribute written content for fundraising events and appeals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in grants writing, research, reports, and project management
  • Two (2) years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, including direct experience preparing grant proposals and grant reports
  • Demonstrated strong persuasive writing and excellent editing skills
  • Must maintain personal cellphone for work-related purposes
  • Ability to work in Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), Sexual Assault (SA), and stalking fields
  • Working conditions may include possible exposure to communicable diseases related to those typically found in social services settings
  • Must be able to carry up to 20lbs
  • Must have consistent and reliable transportation available for work-related purposes
  • Must reside in California and within a 75-mile radius of the City of San Diego
  • Must be available during Agency working hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status
  • Occasional evening and weekend work
