Job Summary
Associate – Global Markets Documentation handles advisory and execution-related legal documentation for trading products (derivatives, foreign exchange, fixed income) across global counterparties. Responsibilities include preparing, drafting, negotiating, and finalizing capital markets agreements (e.g., ISDA Master Agreements, credit support documentation, prime brokerage agreements, master confirmation agreements, energy/metals agreements, and repo/securities lending agreements), ensuring alignment with risk, legal, regulatory, and governance standards, and accelerating time-to-market. The role involves communicating agreement terms to business lines, clients, and counsel; collaborating with Front Office, Legal, Credit, Operations, Funding, Valuations, and Collateral Management; developing understanding of global regulatory requirements; participating in client meetings to provide regulatory advisory and rule interpretation; and supporting regulatory implementation efforts across jurisdictions (US Dodd-Frank, EMIR, UK, Canada, Singapore). The position requires managing a diverse portfolio of capital markets clients, maintaining robust documentation, and ensuring TD Securities’ regulatory obligations are met while providing timely support across multiple time zones. Educational background in law and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a global environment are emphasized, along with strong drafting, communication, and relationship-building skills.
