Job Summary
Associate Geoscientist responsible for field assignments including field documentation and sampling, data collection and interpretation, and the preparation of technical reports. The role includes leading field activities such as groundwater monitoring, monitoring well installation, and supervision of subcontractors, ensuring safety and compliance with project specifications. The position requires applying established field methods, integrating standards into deliverables, coordinating laboratory analyses, and developing draft technical documents. Strong leadership and communication skills are required to mentor junior staff, manage multiple workstreams, and deliver on schedule and budget while maintaining auditable records. Availability to travel and the ability to work in outdoor construction/remediation environments are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geoscience or related field, preferred
- 4–7 years of professional experience
- Demonstrated technical competence in geoscience field investigations and data interpretation
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on routine to moderately complex assignments
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and lead field tasks and small teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with team members, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to function in outdoor locations such as active construction or remediation sites
- Ability to walk long distances on varied terrain, climb ladders, and work at elevation
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Availability to travel as needed
