Associate General Counsel, Sales

Job Summary
Serve as the primary legal partner to the Sales organization on strategic and day-to-day commercial matters, advising on customer agreements, sales programs, promotions, channel strategy, and rebates. Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements and non-standard business terms while partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Commercial Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Marketing to enable business objectives. Identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, and reputational risks related to sales practices, develop practical guidance and scalable processes, and support resolution of escalated customer and commercial issues. Manage a team of attorneys and paralegals. This highly visible role requires a senior attorney with strong commercial judgment to influence outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 12+ years of practice
- Significant legal experience supporting commercial and/or sales organizations
- Deep experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on complex commercial agreements
- Strong knowledge of legal issues affecting sales organizations, including emerging markets, channel arrangements, and related commercial risk
- Excellent business judgment and the ability to provide clear, practical advice in ambiguous or high-pressure situations
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including experience advising senior business leaders
- High standards of ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting a large, matrixed sales organization
- Background in manufacturing, finance, consumer products, retail, distribution, or other commercial environments
- Experience in emerging markets, M&A, and joint ventures
- Experience building playbooks, templates, and scalable legal processes
