Job Summary
Advise management on regulatory strategy and tactics; negotiate and interpret laws/regulations; draft and negotiate transaction documents; manage litigation and outside counsel; participate in filings before PUCs and FERC; collaborate with Asset Management, Regulatory, and Customer Service on transmission, compliance, and territorial matters; handle land rights, easements, and siting; facilitate discovery, depositions, and trial prep; litigate and settlements in regulatory matters; supervise outside counsel; require bar license in MN/ND/SD and ABA-accredited law degree.
Required Qualifications
- D. degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota
- Experience with federal and state regulatory models, regulation of business, energy industry
- Litigation and regulatory matters experience
- Ability to manage outside counsel
- Strong legal writing and oral/presentation skills
