Job Summary
The Associate General Counsel will provide strategic legal support across corporate governance, healthcare regulatory compliance, and employment matters. Responsibilities include managing SEC compliance, drafting disclosures, counseling on FDA and HIPAA regulations, and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctor, 15+ years of legal experience in the life sciences sector, and a strong understanding of regulatory landscapes coupled with the ability to deliver business-oriented legal advice.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
- Active member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar (California preferred)
- 15+ years of progressively responsible legal and compliance experience
- Law firm background and in-house experience supporting at least one life science, healthcare, or medical device company
Desired Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of SEC, FDA and OIG regulatory landscape
- Data protection and privacy laws
- General commercial law relevant to the medtech industry
- Clinical development and transactional experience
- Start-up company experience
