Job Summary
Negotiate broad commercial agreements including enterprise customer contracts, SaaS terms, and channel partnerships while providing practical legal advice to Sales, Product, and Finance teams. Lead due diligence for strategic initiatives, draft standard agreements and negotiation playbooks, and improve contracting processes to accelerate deal cycles. Partner with Product on data protection and regulatory issues, manage corporate and employment matters, and monitor regulatory developments to guide business decisions.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar
- Approximately 6+ years of relevant legal experience
- Substantial commercial contracting experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently draft and negotiate sophisticated B2B commercial agreements
- Strong working knowledge of SaaS, technology, privacy and data protection issues
- Experience with marketplaces, payments, gift cards, rewards, loyalty programs, channel partnerships or retail relationships
- Excellent judgment and the ability to identify the issues that matter, propose workable solutions and escalate appropriately
- Ability to manage a high volume of matters, prioritize effectively and deliver high-quality work in a fast-moving environment
- Clear, concise and adaptable written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain legal issues to non-lawyers
- A collaborative, low-ego approach
- Willingness to be hands-on across both strategic and day-to-day matters
- Comfort operating with autonomy while keeping the General Counsel and key stakeholders appropriately informed
