Job Summary
Manage a team focused on contract management and review while serving as a generalist to handle diverse legal needs across Beeline departments. Negotiate complex contracts and amendments with internal and external clients, including Requests for Proposals, new agreements, and data protection documents. Draft, review, revise, and maintain a wide variety of contracts such as vendor agreements and business relationship terms in accordance with company policies. Interface directly with Finance, Client Services, and Technical Operations to resolve contract issues and promote legal best practices. Leverage AI-powered tools for contract review and redlining, applying independent legal judgment to validate all output. Research applicable laws and monitor regulatory changes to ensure compliance with global data protection standards.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
- be a member in good standing of a State bar
- at least 5 years experience in an in-house counsel department or corporate department of a law firm
- Excellent negotiating and drafting skills
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, AI-powered contract review, redlining, and contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools, and sound judgment to critically evaluate AI-generated contract analysis and recommendations for accuracy and risk
- Have an ability to comprehend complex legal matters and identify the laws that are applicable to them
- Have an understanding of global data protection laws and practices
- Be able to demonstrate exceptional organization and time management skills
- Have a keen eye for detail coupled with good researching ability
- Have persuasive internal and external communication skills that will help in building trust and broadening the client base
- Strong analytical skills relating to contracts and existing laws and their application to business products and practices
- Ability to communicate complex legal issues and risks in terms that non-legal colleagues can understand
- This is a fully remote position and can be located anywhere in the Eastern and Central Time Zones of the United States
