Job Summary
Senior Associate General Counsel for the AMC (Automation & Motion Control) segment acts as the primary day-to-day legal advisor and second-in-command to the VP, Deputy General Counsel – AMC. Responsibilities include leading commercial & segment legal matters, drafting and negotiating customer/supplier/distributor agreements, enforcing contract rights on pricing, IP, delivery and quality, supporting aerospace/defense and government-facing programs, advising on regulatory and export controls, and partnering with cross-functional teams to improve contract templates, processes, and risk management. The role requires practical, business-focused legal guidance, cross-divisional collaboration, and significant experience in government contracting (FAR/DFARS) within an industrial manufacturing context. The position emphasizes hybrid work with at least 3 in-office days per week at a Regal Rexnord office and up to 2 remote days, primarily US-focused with global interaction.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a commercial lawyer
- JD from an accredited law school
- active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- experience supporting aerospace, defense, industrial, or government-facing manufacturing businesses
- understanding of government contracting ecosystem including FAR/DFARS concepts, flow-downs, audits, and government supplier risks
- experience advising on commercial matters including disputes, quality issues, warranty claims, EHS-related matters, and operational risk
- experience in a publicly traded or highly regulated environment preferred
