Job Summary
Lead pilot-scale dairy product development and testing by managing formula development software, preparing benchtop and pilot plant samples, and operating pilot-scale equipment (including steam processors, homogenizers, fillers, and liquefiers) to generate customer-ready samples. Optimize ingredients for cost and functionality, execute laboratory best practices, manage inventory and shipping/receiving for ingredients and samples, conduct shelf-life, microbiological and sensory evaluations, translate results into actionable recommendations for product development, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful product launches or enhancements. Develop recipes for new products, document findings in technical reports, run plant trials, and support continuous improvement of ingredients and processes. Require a B.S. in related fields (Master’s a plus) and 2-3 years of industry experience; proficient in Excel/PowerPoint with SAP familiarity; physically capable of lab/plant work and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Biology, Dairy Science or related discipline or Associate degree with relevant experience
- 2-3 years’ experience in food industry
- Dairy, beverage, or cultured products experience a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence with integrity
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with SAP; knowledge of BI tools like PowerBI
