Job Summary
The Associate Fire Alarm Designer is responsible for coordinating the best design solutions for fire alarm systems based on industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budget requirements. This role involves providing technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction phases. Candidates should have experience in fire alarm system design, a bachelor's degree in an engineering or construction-related field preferred, and a NICET certification. A quick learner with familiarity in AutoCAD/Revit and Microsoft Office tools is essential. Effective communication with customers and team members is crucial.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) or more years of experience with fire alarm system design
- Experience with fire alarm equipment and installation
- Knowledge of local codes and construction safety requirements, including IBC and IECC
Desired Qualifications
- Detail-oriented and quality-driven designer
- NICET certification
- Understanding of fire alarm design including high-density, high-rise, and smoke control
- AutoCAD/Revit experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to thrive in a changing environment
