Job Summary
Assist in structuring acquisition financings, leveraged and investment-grade loans, and bridge facilities for clients. Prepare credit submissions, build detailed financial models, and support transactions from underwriting through closing. Monitor client and industry performance, manage syndicated loan pipelines, and liaise with back-office and risk management teams. Conduct financial analysis, including covenant analysis and downside scenarios, while identifying cross-sell opportunities across Capital Markets products. This Associate role sits within the Financial Institutions Group Corporate Banking team at Royal Bank of Canada, focusing on credit solutions and portfolio monitoring.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in Corporate Lending, Corporate Finance, Financial Institutions Banking, or Credit Analysis
- Strong financial modeling skills, including experience with complex capital structures and covenant frameworks
- Superior writing and presentation skills with ability to prepare detailed credit memoranda
- Strong analytical skills with ability to assess risks (e.g., reimbursement exposure, regulatory risk, payer mix dynamics)
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Ability to take initiative, operate independently, and thrive in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines
- Formal credit training
