Job Summary
Participate in field operations as assigned, including service operations and On-The-Job Training opportunities. Study independently and complete classroom training alongside practical evaluations to progress through the 36-week development program. Perform equipment jobs scheduled by Learning & Development or the Parts Director while maintaining high safety consciousness and professionalism. Report activities regularly via Salesforce and email to ensure accurate statistical data on training and customer-oriented work. Relocation may be required to a permanent assigned region, and the role involves working standard and non-standard hours to support customers. Successful completion of the training program and all assessments is required for promotion to FSE1.
Required Qualifications
- Basic mechanical skills
- Must be able to use wrenches and screwdrivers skillfully and dexterously
- Align and tighten bolt one-handed without seeing fastener
- Basic electronics knowledge
- Identify and understand the function of components and circuits such as bleed resistors on a capacitor, bypass capacitors on digital circuits, pull-up resistors in logic circuits, blocking diode on a charging circuit
- Schematic reading
- Able to identify and determine the overall function of a circuit based on the schematic such as self-latching relays, feedback loops using comparators or current control/monitoring using a shunt resistor
- Troubleshooting
- Able to perform basic troubleshooting tasks both in theory and practice
- Examples include using a multimeter to troubleshoot an open switch in a series of switches or analyzing waveforms with an oscilloscope
- Communication
- Technical and professional communication between colleagues
- Able to describe complex issues and understand technical instructions all over the phone
- Customer Support
- Establish and maintain successful professional relationships with customers
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customers in an engaging and uplifting manner
- Computer software skills
- Must be able to perform basic computer-related tasks such as changing an IP address, booting a computer from a CD, cloning and replacing a hard drive or accessing and reviewing Windows event viewer
- Creativity/outside the box thinking
- An ability to creatively apply previous knowledge and experience in each situation
- An ability to recognize when creativity is both called for and appropriate
- Attention to detail and observation skills
- The ability to notice and correctly interpret small details
- Ensuring accuracy in tasks such as inspecting components, identifying inconsistencies, or detecting irregularities
- Spotting a slight misalignment in a mechanical assembly
- Recognizing a faint discoloration on a circuit board that could indicate an issue such as overheating
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, for extended periods of time
- Dexterous ability to manipulate small objects
- Willing to work standard and non-standard hours as required to support the customers
