Job Summary
Field Service Engineer who installs, maintains, and repairs Beckman Coulter Diagnostics laboratory instruments across the New England region. Responsibilities include on-site troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventive maintenance, and service repairs; providing excellent customer service to clinical and research laboratories; maintaining service logs and parts orders; training newer engineers; traveling within the territory and working remotely from home. Requires an Associate degree (or equivalent military experience) and at least 1 year of diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotic, or electronic equipment. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently within compliance requirements. Travel up to 100% within the territory with occasional support outside the territory; lifting up to 50 lbs; valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree (technical, biomedical, instrumentation or related) or equivalent military experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to travel 100% within assigned territory with limited overnight travel
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical/Environmental requirements as listed
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree (technical, biomedical, instrumentation or related) or equivalent military experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation
- Proven ability to travel within an assigned region and work remotely
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience with Beckman Coulter Diagnostics equipment or similar laboratory instrumentation is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical/environment requirements as listed in the posting
- Knowledge of Service Call Planning systems (e.g., Salesforce, SharePoint, OBI) is a plus
