Job Summary

Associate Field Engineer - Controls in Kansas City, MO for Wunderlich-Malec Engineering. Responsible for electrical and controls engineering projects in the Data Center sector, including BMS installation and wiring QA/QC verification, point-to-point testing, functional performance testing, and system-level testing. Involves coordinating with electrical subcontractors, PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, commissioning support, and start-up assistance; requires a BS in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (or an equivalent substitution), 0-2 years of experience, knowledge of field instrumentation, hardware panels and low-voltage controls, and understanding of control systems and their programming. Initial duties may include designing, testing, verification against shop drawings, and assisting with system integration across multiple sites; role is at least partially on-site with hybrid work options at the Kansas City location.

Required Qualifications

  • Education BS Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • An AA in Engineering Technology or equivalent field technician experience may be substituted
  • Experience New Graduate or 0-2 years of field experience
  • Understanding of field instrumentation, hardware panels and low voltage controls design
  • Understanding of control systems, PLC programming, SCADA programming and their applications
  • Ability to work on-site 60-100% as described in Working / Residence Plan
