Job Summary
Facilities Engineer role within an interdisciplinary team at a government SCIF facility in Reston, VA. Tasks include integrating data and engineering principles to describe heavy industrial facility function and layout, providing hands-on guidance on facility infrastructure design and installation, and producing accurate intelligence estimates and customer-directed products. Strong written and verbal communication skills required; will brief personnel at all levels. Working experience spans mechanical, electrical, life-safety, and controls systems within commercial/government/industrial facilities, with proficiency in interpreting technical docs and operating/building-management systems. The role emphasizes facility analysis, 3D and functional modeling, and vulnerability assessment within a fast-paced government environment. Requires active TS/SCI clearance, U.S. citizenship, and a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years (or a Master's with 2+ years) of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering concepts, industry standards, and best practices related to facility infrastructure and building systems
- Experience supporting design, construction, commissioning, operation, or maintenance of mechanical, electrical, life-safety, and controls systems in facilities
- Knowledge of facility planning, operations, maintenance, and applicable building codes and standards
- Experience specifying, installing, operating, or maintaining HVAC, Electrical power, Security systems, BMS, ICS
- Ability to interpret engineering documents such as P&IDs, O&Ms, drawings
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, or BIM software
- Knowledge of fire protection codes and integration with control systems
- Professional Engineering Certification or related credentials (preferred)
- Military or defense-related experience (preferred)
