Job Summary
Prepare estimates for various projects using hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating methods. Read contract documents, perform quantity take-offs, and organize pricing information. Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, then clarify pricing details through direct communication. Prepare estimate formats covering general conditions, bidding, and bid analysis, while drafting outline schedules for proposed projects. Assist staff with special projects and support the project team in maintaining cost accuracy. Champion predictable outcomes and integrity in all estimating tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management related field, or equivalent education and experience
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to operate office equipment, such as computer, printer, phone, copier, fax, etc
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Appropriate knowledge of construction practices and methods
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred working knowledge of Destini Estimator software, BlueBeam, Assemble, and other latest software and technology
- Preferred working knowledge of On Screen Take-off
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of Revit and Primavera systems preferred
